This is pretty bad by Apple.
But I’ve pre-ordered an iphone 4S anyway.
No one is doing anybody any favors, that’s a given in this business. Obviously it’s all about profit. Is this move by Apple surprising? No. Someone was bought out, someone said “yes Apple, you can buy my company that makes this Siri thing” After that they can pretty much to whatever they want with it. Was it a dick move? Yes, but that’s business, at least this kind of business anyway. Will they do this with Garmin? They might, IF they buy them out.
@MxRacer240 That is a question that we all have asked, the app itself would be easy to build, but the real problem is the Servers, the jailbreakers would have to design a Server of equal quality and bandwidth, to maintain that could cost thousands of dollars. So unless there is some really awesome millionaire hacker out there, i think we’re out of luck.

OK so what prevents Apple from buying your Garmin or Navigon apps and including them as an exclusive feature on the iPhone 5 when it comes out. That’s exactly what they did with Siri. Its an evil downward spiral and right in line with Apple’s anti competitive practices over the last year. Screw your existing customers in order to get new ones.

i downloaded siri a while ago, and thought it was pretty lame, deleted it.
@xPLAYERx66 Unfortunately it is now only for the iPhone 4S, it used to be an app (as shown in the video), but apple took it down so the only way you can use Siri is with a new iPhone 4S. Thus making them even more money.
